The Walt Disney World Resort has a plethora of resort accommodations, ranging from deluxe resorts to value hotels, and some of the best are right outside Disney’s Animal Kingdom’s doorsteps. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas, Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Disney’s All-Star Resorts are all Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park-affiliated hotels, and you can’t go wrong with a stay at any of them!
If you are going to stay somewhere on the Walt Disney World Resort property, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge would be a great selection. Located adjacent to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, this lodge offers guests views from their rooms that no other resort can offer. Instead of looking out to a courtyard or pool, many of the 1,307 rooms at this resort offer views of giraffes, zebras, antelopes and other wild animals grazing through a 33-acre African savanna. Amenities at this hotel include a health club and spa, babysitting and child services, authentic African-inspired restaurants and recreational activities. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge also offers a special sunrise safari only available to lodge guests. The Kilimanjaro Sunrise Safari provides an intimate, up-close look at the beauty of the animals before the park opens to the public.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas combines all of the amenities of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge with the comforts of home. The villas offer standard guest rooms, deluxe guest rooms and suites that have a separate kitchenette and sitting area. Most rooms at the villas come with additional amenities such as high-speed Internet access, irons and ironing boards, coffee makers, refrigerators and in-room safes.
One of Disney’s Moderate Resorts, Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort features almost 2,000 rooms that encircle a 15-acre lagoon. This hotel features a food court area, a lounge, salon and a health club, among others, in buildings that embrace the legendary cultures of Mexico and the American Southwest amidst Mayan architectural flourishes.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom-area hotels also include Disney’s selection of value resorts, including Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Disney’s All-Star Resorts (Sports, Movies and Music). All four of these resorts are the most economical choices at the Walt Disney World Resort, starting at under one hundred dollars per night, and feature larger-than-life décor. For example, at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort, your building may feature a three-story football or baseball glove, or at Disney’s Pop Century Resort, you can swim in a pool shaped like a bowling ball! These hotels offer standard rooms, but they still have the same great Walt Disney World Resort privileges that you would get if you were staying at a moderate or deluxe hotel on property.
Among those privileges are Extra Magic Hours (before the parks open and after they close), in which resort-only guests get to experience the best attractions with much lesser crowds. If you are flying into Orlando International Airport, you can also take advantage of Disney’s Magical Express Transportation, which picks you up and takes you to your Walt Disney World Resort free of charge. Transportation is also complimentary on-site at your resort hotel, as you can hop on a bus and be shuttled anywhere on property without ever having to spend a dime to park or worry about how to get where. There are other resort benefits as well, such as the Disney Dining Plan, an offer where you can save 40 percent on dining on over 100 restaurants across property, as well as complimentary package delivery and amazing facilities that only Walt Disney World Resort guests can enjoy.
