The Disney-MGM Studios, the third park built at the Walt Disney World Resort, opened in 1989 and is inspired by the Golden Age of Hollywood. Originally, this park was a working television and film production studio along with being a theme park, but most of the sets and production studios have since been relocated off property, so the park now mainly serves for entertainment purposes only. The Disney-MGM Studios is a salute to the world of showbiz, both of yesteryear and today. Here, you can experience some of the best rides at the entire Walt Disney World Resort or see a first-class show that is worthy of being a Broadway production.
Before heading into the Disney-MGM Studios, be sure to check out all of the
important park information. This section will tell you everything you need to know about The Studios before you arrive, from ticket information (including information on discounted Disney tickets from Orlando Fun Tickets), special needs care and anything else you need to know to help you prepare for your visit, including how to get to and from the park with ease.
As we mentioned above, the Disney-MGM Studios is home to two of the best thrill rides at the Walt Disney World Resort that will impress even the most die-hard adventure seekers. Rock ‘n’ RollerCoaster Starring Aerosmith and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror offer different thrills but the same blood-curdling scream effect. If 13-story drops aren’t your forte though, there is still plenty here that you will enjoy. The new Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show and the other plethora of shows at this park will be sure to entertain everyone in the family.
