Exercise Options at WDW

As you have probably already figured out, the Walt Disney World Resort has something for everyone. There is an endless amount of activities for kids to participate in, a large assortment of nighttime entertainment for adults, and plenty of theme park and water park attractions to keep everyone occupied for days and weeks of excitement. In fact, did you know that the Walt Disney World Resort is home to four championship golf courses, or that you could even go horseback riding at the Tri-Circle-D Ranch and Farm? If you want it, Disney has it – and that includes an abundance of exercise options as well.

If you are one of those motivated few who want to keep exercise a priority on your next vacation, then you are in luck. The Walt Disney World Resort has plenty of options to keep you in top shape during your stay.

One of the most popular options for a nice and relaxing vacation workout is a bicycle ride. Bicycles can be rented at nine different resorts at Walt Disney World, including Disney's BoardWalk Inn Resort, Disney's Wilderness Lodge, Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, Disney's Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter, Disney's Port Orleans Resort – Riverside, Disney's Old Key West Resort, Disney's BoardWalk Villas and Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. These inexpensive rentals will take you through scenic trails and along winding paths throughout these resorts, and you do not have to be a guest at the resort to rent them. Various size bikes are available, along with helmets, and if you want to make biking a family exercise, four-seater “surrey” bikes are also available at many locations!

If a leisurely run is more up your alley, you may be surprised to know that Disney has designed jogging trails at 20 of the Walt Disney World Resorts. To find out where the trails are at your resort hotel, just simply ask the front desk to find out. These jogging trails offer a myriad of different courses to choose from, and with varied scenery and terrain at each one, you could hop from resort to resort to check them out one by one!

Tennis is also another popular sport at Walt Disney World. Hard courts are available at Disney's BoardWalk Inn Resort, Disney's Wilderness Lodge, Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, Disney's Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter, Disney's Port Orleans Resort – Riverside, Disney's Old Key West Resort, Disney's BoardWalk Villas and Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, while clay courts are located at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa and Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa. Rentals are not available, so if you are interested in taking to the courts, be sure to bring your own equipment with you. In addition to these great ways to get a good workout in, more than 10 resorts across property offer health clubs for resort guests. Be sure to inquire at check in to see if your Walt Disney World Resort has one of these health clubs. And finally, there are six resorts across property that also have sand volleyball courts. Rentals are available, so make exercise a group activity and have some fun in the mean time!
