General Park Information about Aquatica

In March 2008, Sea World opened the doors to its latest theme park to hit Central Florida, one that has been several years in the making. Aquatica, the newest venture by Anheuser-Busch, is a water park that combines exciting slides, lush landscapes and attractions that you would expect from a Sea World theme park with the same integration of marine mammals that they have become so famous for. In fact, this 60-acre water park features 36 water slides, six rivers and lagoons, more than 80,000 square feet of beaches and side-by-side wave pools right alongside Commerson’s dolphins, the featured animal that also plays a starring role in the park’s most popular attraction.

If you are visiting either Sea World or Discovery Cove, or simply want to find an inexpensive way to beat the Central Florida heat, Aquatica may be just the place for you! Located right across the street from Sea World on International Drive (just off of FL 528 and less than a mile from the Orange County Convention Center) and within a 10-mile drive of all of the other attractions and the Orlando International Airport, this theme park may possibly have one of the best locations of all of the parks in Orlando. Parking is easy as well – toll booths open one hour prior to the park’s opening, with the price being $ 10 for cars and $ 12 for RVs. Preferred parking, which will get you as close as possible to the park’s entrance, is $ 15.

Park hours at Aquatica will range depending on the time of year; during peak season, you can expect to get in at 9 a.m., while the park will open at 10 a.m. during non-peak seasons. Additionally, the park will close anywhere from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. each evening. And, while this park is operational all year long, there will be select Mondays and Tuesdays during November and December in which Aquatica will be closed due to park demand. But, even when it does get cool outside, don’t expect the water to be cool as well – Aquatica has a state-of-the-art water heating system that adjusts to the climate outside but can actually be heated up to 84 degrees!

Once inside the park, guests can expect a plethora of amenities, including private cabana rentals, dining facilities that include an all-you-can-eat restaurant and many healthy alternatives (coolers are not permitted), gift shops, beach and picnic areas, locker and towel rentals, free use of life vests and shower/changing areas. In addition, more than 100 certified lifeguards are on duty at all times, as is a first-aid station staffed with EMTs and a registered nurse.
