MGM Studios Attraction Description
Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith– Jam along to your favorite Aerosmith tunes as you rocket from zero to 60 mph in under two seconds at the beginning of this ride. The entire coaster is inside and primarily in the dark, and there are plenty of twists and loops along the way to make even the most die-hard thrill ride fans keep coming back for more. Of note, however: this ride is extremely popular and will have a long wait no matter what time of day it is. So, be sure to use a FASTPASS for this attraction (and get your FASTPASS early in the day, as they can run out early in the afternoon on a busy summer day).
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror – This attraction is right up there with the best themed rides at the Walt Disney World Resort. From the eerie outside of the Hollywood Tower Hotel to the inside lobby, everything at this attraction will make you believe that you really are entering a hotel from Hollywood’s Golden Age. But, inside is where all the fun begins. Guests will board elevators that have four different random sequences of drops – so you never know which sequence you will get once you get on board. In all, each ride will plummet down 13 stories in matter of just three exhilarating seconds. This is another good attraction in which to take advantage of the FASTPASS system.
Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage – Experience the story behind “The Beauty and the Beast” once again in this lovely musical performance that will have you singing along to all of your favorite songs from the movie!
High School Musical Pep Rally – This new stage show transports you into the halls and onto the basketball court of Easy High School. Learn new dance moves and sing along to your favorite songs from the movies at this energized pep rally!
Star Tours - the ultimate Star Wars thrill ride – You and 39 other guests will hop on board a Star Speeder to take a tour of the galaxy on this flight simulator ride that is based off of the original “Star Wars” movies and features characters like R2-D2 and C3-PO.
“Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” Movie Set Adventure – Feel as though you have stepped right into the movie “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” at this overgrown playground. Young guests will feel as small as ants and will enjoy this attraction, while parents get a chance to sit back and relax.
Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! – Be sure to enter this stage show early to get a good seat, as several audience members are picked to be part of the show. This show will give you a behind-the-scenes account of how stunts are performed as well as performance of the stunts themselves from an Indiana Jones-look alike. The Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular! was choreographed by Glenn Randall, who was the stunt coordinator for all of the “Indiana Jones” movies.
Playhouse Disney - Live on Stage! – This live musical is fun for the little ones as characters from Playhouse Disney on The Disney Channel light up the stage for a 20-minute performance.
Voyage of The Little Mermaid – Go under the sea with Ariel and her friends in this live show that uses costumed characters, puppets and special effects to re-create scenes from the Walt Disney animated feature “The Little Mermaid."
Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show – This show comes directly from Disneyland Paris, where it was extremely popular, and features incredible stunts using special designed cars, motorcycles and jet skis, plus tons of other special effects. This stunt show also gives the audience a rare look at how car chases and collision scenes in movies and on TV are created and filmed.
Disney-MGM Studios Backlot Tour –Travel through the back lot of the Disney-MGM Studios on a guided tram ride to encounter special effects, visit soundstages and even become part of a movie set at Catastrophe Canyon!
ATAS Hall of Fame Plaza – See bronzed statues of some of TV’s most famous personalities, as chosen by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
Muppet Vision 3-D – Fans of the Muppets (and even those who aren’t) will love this comical 12-minute 3-D show featuring Kermit and Miss Piggy as the starring characters.
Journey Into Narnia: Creating The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe – Learn about the making of the live-action film in this walking tour, and then enjoy Narnia up-close as you view costumes, creatures and props that were actually used in the film.
Sounds Dangerous – Starring Drew Carey – You are immersed into total darkness as you are invited to a taping of a fictional TV series pilot (where the camera blacks out) that shows you how audio special effects are created for TV shows and motion pictures.
The American Film Institute Showcase – In this exhibit, you will browse through actual props and costumes used by monstrous movie creatures from some of your favorite TV shows and movies.
The Great Movie Ride – Re-visit some of your favorite scenes from the silver screen on this 22-minute tour inside the Mann’s Chinese Theater.
The Magic of Disney Animation – Go behind the scenes of the making of some of your favorite Disney movies as you see how your favorite characters were created. You can learn the basics of animation in a short film and then even test your skills as you learn how to draw a character directly from a Disney animation artist. This attraction is a 35-minute walking tour/movie combination.
Walt Disney: One Man’s Dream – This attraction, which opened in conjunction with Walt’s 100th birthday celebration, is a self-paced walking exhibit that pays tribute to Walt Disney and his many achievements, including an extensive array of memorabilia as well.
Fantasmic! – This nighttime spectacular combines a cast of over 50 performers, including classic Disney characters, with special effects on dancing water screens, to produce a 25-minute performance that is unforgettable. The show centers around Mickey Mouse’s dream, which is overtaken by villains. But in the end, Mickey re-claims control and comes out the victor again. Be sure to stay until the very end of this show, because the best part of the entire performance comes during the last 1-2 minutes!

Toy Story Mania! - Ride along through the Toy Story Midway, as you play along to interactive 3-D carnival games with all of your favorite Toy Story characters!
