Nightlife on the Disney and Universal Properties

Each evening, Jelly Rolls lights up the BoardWalk with its dueling pianos and crowd participation, while the Atlantic Dance Hall keeps guests grooving all night long just next door.

While all of these above venues may keep Disney guests occupied at night, Universal has an equally as hip nightlife scene right on property as well. Among the establishments you will encounter at CityWalk are the Red Coconut Club, the newest venture that sits atop CityWalk, the groove – a dance club with a different theme each night – or Pat O’Brien’s, a re-creation of New Orleans’ favorite watering hole. Or, if you are looking to ‘waste away in Margaritaville,’ you can head on over to the bar at Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville, one of more than 10 restaurants situated at CityWalk.

While Universal’s CityWalk is an extraordinary way to spend an evening, the Hard Rock Hotel’s Velvet Sessions are a unique way to spend a night of your vacation as well. These cocktail parties, held on the last Thursday of each month, feature popular bands in an intimate setting in the hotel. While the Velvet Sessions are reservations-only parties (you can request an invitation on their web site), they are a great way to kick off any evening before hitting up CityWalk, which is located not far from the three Universal Resort hotels.
