Shopping MGM Studios
Much like at the Magic Kingdom Park, much of the shopping at the Disney-MGM Studios can be done right near the park’s entrance. A plethora of classic Walt Disney World Resort and Disney-MGM Studios merchandise can be found here in these stores, or you can find more specific merchandise located at other stores that are littered throughout the streets of Hollywood. Before you spend all of your time (and money) at the park, however, here are a few tips for you. First, if you are a guest at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, you can take advantage of free package delivery to your hotel room free of charge. You also don’t have to worry about bringing your credit card with you either – just simply show your room key and the charges for all purchases will be billed directly to your room account. In addition, for an extra fee, your purchases can be shipped anywhere in the world via FedEx – but it will take a little longer than usual to get to your destination because of processing delays at Walt Disney World. Or, if you get home from your vacation and regret not purchasing something you saw, you can order any item from the theme parks at any time be calling 407-363-6200 during business hours. Some of the shopping highlights at the Disney-MGM Studios are described below. At the Animation Gallery (at the shops located along Mickey Avenue and the Animation Courtyard), located inside the Animation building, you will find limited-edition Disney animation cells, original Disney artwork and other collectibles. This is a beautiful store to browse through even if you don’t intend on purchasing any of the higher-end merchandise (cheaper books are posters are available too, however). At Mickey’s of Hollywood, located on Hollywood Boulevard, you will find logo-imprinted Mickey Mouse and Disney-MGM Studios merchandise, clothing and plush toys. Also check out the shopping along Sunset Boulevard! Sid Cahuenga’s One-of-a-Kind is also a must-hit store. Located just inside the park’s gates, this store has unique non-Disney merchandise, including one-of-a-kind autographed photos, posters, books and items owned by celebrities. The Writer’s Shop is relatively hidden at the Studios, located on New York Street in the Backlot shopping area of the park, but it is a small bookstore and gourmet coffee shop all in one and is a nice place to relax and beat the hustle and bustle of the theme park on a busy day. Also located on New York Street, It’s a Wonderful Shop, is the place to go to get all of your Walt Disney World Resort-themed holiday merchandise. If you are looking for a sweet treat in the middle of your day, Sweet Spells is one of the best on property to quench that sweet tooth craving! This shop dishes out sugary sweet treats such as candy and caramel apples (which you can custom-create with your own toppings – just ask), delectable fudge, slushes and more. Then, you can browse your way through the adjacent Beverly Sunset store, which sells Fantasmic! and Disney villains character merchandise! And, of course, make sure to check out the fabulous shopping options surrounding Echo Lake!
