Universal Transportation

Now that you have decided to come to the Universal Orlando Resort, it is also important to know what transportation options you have once you arrive.

The Orlando International Airport is one of the largest in the country, and with more than 60 airlines operating in and out of its terminals, including all the major airlines, you are sure to find a flight that will work with any schedule, day or night. Once you arrive at OIA, you also have many options of getting to the Universal Orlando Resort. An airport shuttle service is available for guests staying at one of the three Universal Orlando hotels through Mears transportation and can be booked for per person for round-trip fares. This can be set up by calling 407-423-5566. The departure point for Mears at OIA is at the ground transportation area on the lower level of the airport, and the departure point from each hotel is at the Porte Cochere of each hotel.

If you decide that you would rather have a rental car to enjoy your stay in Orlando, OIA has six different rental car services on-site to get you going. They are:

In addition to these car rental services, Hertz Car Rental Services are also available on-site at Universal Orlando. You can call ahead to make a reservation at 407-503-1156.

There are an additional 15 car/van rental services that are located off-site of the Orlando International Airport, but they do have courtesy shuttles that will take you from OIA to pick up your rental vehicle.
If none of these options suit your needs, you can also catch a taxi at the ground transportation level from one of the five companies that are located at the Orlando International Airport.

Once you arrive at the Universal Orlando Resort, it is also just as easy to get around, especially if you are a guest at one of the three resort hotels. On-site transportation is available free of charge and includes water taxis and shuttle buses. Waterways connect the Universal Orlando on-site hotels to Universal Studios, Universal CityWalk and Islands of Adventure. Each hotel is also within walking distance to Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and CityWalk. Please note, however, if you are coming in by car, that parking rates at each hotel are per day for self parking and per day for valet parking.

In addition, for all Universal Orlando hotel guests, you can also take advantage of complimentary scheduled buses to SeaWorld Orlando and Wet ‘n Wild. Reservations are required for this service, so it is best to contact the concierge desk at the individual hotel to confirm transportation to and from these locations.


If you are staying at a hotel outside of the Universal Orlando Resort, you still may have the opportunity to get free shuttle service to and from the resort’s grounds. Universal Orlando has partnered with nine local hotels to offer their guests free scheduled transportation to Universal theme parks daily and to CityWalk nightly, discounts on shopping and dining throughout Universal Orlando and golf reservations and complimentary scheduled transportation to select area courses. These hotels are as follows:
